Web Privacy Policy
AUDIO ALLIANCE (NORTH) LIMITED
Privacy & Cookies Policy
Applies to audioalliance.co.uk
1. Who we are
This website, audioalliance.co.uk, is operated by Audio Alliance (North) Limited ("Audio Alliance", "we", "us"), of Unit 7 Norbury Court, The City Works, Welcomb Street, Manchester, M11 2NB. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

2. Information we collect
We collect very little personal information directly, because the site doesn't use contact forms — every enquiry link opens an email in your own mail application instead of submitting data to us through the site.
-
Enquiries by email. If you email us (including via a "mailto" link on the site), we receive whatever you choose to include — typically your name, email address, and the details of your enquiry. This is sent directly through your own email provider, not stored by the website itself.
-
Website usage data. We use analytics (Google Analytics and/or Wix's built-in analytics) to understand how visitors use the site — pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser type, referral source, and time on site. This is aggregated and not used to identify you personally.
-
3. How we use your information
-
To respond to enquiries you send us about hire, sales, or projects.
-
To understand how the site is used, so we can improve it (page popularity, navigation issues, broken links).
-
To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
Our legal basis for handling enquiry emails is legitimate interest (responding to business enquiries you've initiated). Our legal basis for analytics cookies is your consent, given through the site's cookie banner.
4. Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We use two categories:
-
Essential cookies. Set automatically by Wix, our website hosting platform, to make the site function correctly (page load, security, load balancing). These can't be switched off and don't require consent.
-
Analytics cookies. Set by Google Analytics and/or Wix Analytics to measure visitor numbers and behaviour. These only run with your consent, given via the cookie banner, and you can withdraw consent at any time by changing your cookie settings or clearing cookies in your browser.
We do not currently use advertising or marketing cookies (for example, retargeting pixels from Facebook/Meta or Google Ads). If that changes, this policy will be updated before any such cookies are introduced.
5. Third-party services
We use a small number of third-party services to run the site and our business:
-
Wix.com — our website hosting and platform provider, which processes some data on our behalf as part of running the site.
-
Google Analytics (if enabled) — provided by Google LLC, used for the analytics described above.
-
Instagram and LinkedIn — our site links out to our profiles on these platforms. We don't embed their tracking on our own pages, but once you click through, their own privacy policies and cookies apply, not ours.
We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.
6. International data transfers
Wix and Google operate data centres in various countries, which may include locations outside the UK and European Economic Area. Where this happens, these providers are required to have appropriate safeguards in place (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your information to UK standards.
7. How long we keep information
Enquiry emails are kept for as long as reasonably necessary to deal with your enquiry and for our business records, and are deleted or archived periodically. Analytics data is retained according to the relevant provider's default settings (for example, Google Analytics typically retains data for 14 months unless configured otherwise).
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
-
Ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
-
Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
-
Ask us to delete your information, in certain circumstances.
-
Object to or restrict how we use your information.
-
Withdraw consent to analytics cookies at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at sound@audioalliance.com. If you're not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
9. Children
Our website and services are aimed at businesses and industry professionals, not children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we start using a new tool or service. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent version.
